Some may see this as a hostile takeover. But Mom couldn't stop laughing for a while !

Staying at home
Still have some remodeling to finish. So we won't be going far during this Spring Break.




If I would have known then...
One of the most gratifying things about being a parent is the opportunity to share knowledge with the kids. Now, I have a lot of theories about cultural learning, and I'm making sure the boys get the benefit of everything I've learned.

Also, I learn a lot more when I do this. (Like that old saying in med school - "See One, Do One, Teach One".) For example, that has made me a much better musician. I really love playing instruments with the boys !

Bugle Man
A few years ago, Kevin was looking at some Bugle Boy Khakis. He asked the obvious question: "Is there a Bugle Man ?" Well, he keeps growing like a weed. He is now a lot taller than me. Guess that makes him the Bugle Man !

Kevin set a goal to finish all of his music "pass-offs" before anybody else in the trumpet section. As a result, he is already first chair trumpeter in his band class.

All things Bass
Aaron rocked in the All-County Jazz Band ! Even though he was one of the youngest members, he earned a lot of respect among the band directors and students. During the week leading up to the concert, we practiced at home. He probably learned more about playing electric bass in that one week than he would usually learn in a year ! It was great fun !

He has also outpaced the school horns. So we recently purchased a very cool VMI 3301 Tuba. It was on sale at a bargain price on wwbw.com. We're very happy with the quality, sound, and price.
